Polymarket Copy-Trading Risks
Updated October 1, 2026.
Prediction-market positions can lose some or all of the capital committed to them. An incorrect outcome, adverse price movement, fees, or inability to exit at an expected price can all cause loss. Use only capital you can afford to lose without affecting essential expenses.
Market outcomes and resolution
Each market has its own closing and resolution rules. Read them before trading: resolution can be delayed, disputed, or different from your interpretation. A high market price is not certainty; a losing position can become worthless.
Copying a trade does not copy its result
Your order may reach the market later, at a different price or size, or not fill. The trader may have other wallets, hedges, or risks you cannot see. A bot can repeat losing actions quickly when settings are too broad or left unmonitored.
Liquidity, execution, and technology
Spread, thin order books, slippage, and fees affect the actual fill. Networks, wallets, marketplaces, feeds, and software can be delayed or unavailable. Limits help define intended exposure but cannot guarantee order execution or a precise cap on loss.
Data limitations
Historical PnL, win rates, and charts depend on the period and data available. They may omit other wallets, unresolved positions, fees, or trade context. Demo figures on this site are fictional; they are not live trading records or forecasts.
Your decisions and local rules
Set a total risk budget and per-market limit before starting. Review open positions, related events, and bot history. Prediction-market availability differs by location and marketplace; checking applicable rules is your responsibility. Seek independent financial, legal, or tax advice where needed.
